Bronco on 20s
I saw this on another bronco site. I think this looks real sharp. I know a lot of you guys will hate this so don't yell at me. Just thought I'd throw this out there. I hope the pictures work b/c this is the first time I've tried it.

Might as well yank the 4WD out from under it 'cause it will NEVER see anything but smooth pavement. If you want a "cute ute" buy a RAV4 or an Escalade. Either of those vehicles are quite well suited for doing absolutely NOTHING but looking good and they aren't very good at that either. At least when the Bronco started out, it was capable and worthy of the manufacturers original ideas behind its design. Someone is just misguided...not unlike adding monster tires and a 12" lift to a Coupe DeVille or Town Car.

I knew I was going to take some abuse for this one. As the lone voice of dissent on this thread I feel obligated to argue my point. First off let me qualify myself. I think this gentleman's truck is ugly. I don't like the "white out" effect with the body color, tire cover and face plate. I don't like the euro taillights or the style choice of rims. I do think the hip-hop culture which has promoted the "Dub" explosion has caused some gross violations of taste and practicality. There are some really fugly 20-24 inch rims out there. I also don't see the point in putting 20s on a Beetle or a Civic. It's just plain stupid. You shouldn't be spending more on your rims than on your car.
That being said, I think some really sharp looking 18-20 inch rims on your car or truck can make it look a hell of a lot better than stock. I have seen plenty of horrendous looking broncos with lifts and swampers on the streets and in these forums to know that bad taste knows no boundries.
Greystreak,
I usually agree with most of what you post but I am going to have to challenge you on this point. I would say that the "manufacturers original ideas behind its design" on most mass produced cars and trucks is to convey a person from point A to point B and to make a tidy profit for their company in the process. I also think that putting a Rav4 in the same category as an Escalade is not very fair. Thats like comparing a Ford Festiva to a Mustang. Just because someone changes their ride to suit their preferences doesn't mean they are misguided, it just means they have different tastes. Do I have a point? Not really. I just think that a little open mindedness in this forum is refreshing. To take a page out of the sport's guys column, the lesson, as always, is I am a moron. Have a great weekend gentlemen.
P.S. I think we all agree that one Capt. Planet reference in a thread is one too many, so keep it to yourself Geezer.
