ATS makes them (Australia) but I haven't found a US distributor for them. On the heavy industrial side you can go to Paccar, the link to thier website is:

Good luck and happy wheeling!

We weren't necessarily talking practical, we were talking PTO which translates into very big, heavy duty equipment. You might be able to find an old Ramsey or Koenig winch from farm or military equipment with the caveat or a spendy rebuild.
I would agree that with the tehcnology in electric winches these days its a better bang for the buck, and some serious load in the newer designs. Not to mention the maintenance of shafts, etc with the PTO. Kind of a PITA IMHO.
He was looking for a source, so I thought I'd give him something to chew on. Besides, you get to add a cool lever to the floor of your truck for the PTO engagement - big points in the "Ooooh Wow" category.

Well most winches that would be run from the duty's pto would be HYD driven ,no shafts if thats what your talkin about .

No disrespect agin the lever gods, that's why they are still makin' them. I just find it is one less thing to worry about when wheeling the barge in the sticks, 4R100 auto that is. If 'ya got levers, one more will really baffle the bejeezus outta most lookers.
I didn't mean shafts particularly with a hydraulic PTO, a lot of the older PTO stuff was shaft driven like the Ramsey and Koenig winches, the aux PTO for farm equipment augers and such.
Keep me on my toes, I'm here to learn as well.
