I cannot focus or comprehend why a person would modify a ford trucks with all this talk of muscle cars, oh yea to be different. haha. Well in my opinion you were better off with the 67 anyway so I guess it worked out. Just don't tell me you still own the 67. Later

jwtaylor, I am now much older and "wiser?" anyway I am now a homeowner and needed a truck to haul my stuff from Home Depot and Menards. I enjoy fixing it up alot. This is actually the first big truck I've owned and really love it. I only paid $600.00 for it, but it needed work but it ran good, leaked oil like a sieve though. I someday may get back into muscle cars, but the 67 is long gone....another sad story. But I haven't forgot all the tricks I learned building and racing it. But right now I love my Ford truck and that's why I'm here on this forum, and hopefully help others and get help when needed.

I kinda got the impression you thought I was questioning your wanting to fix up a truck being as you have had a few muscle cars. I didn't mean it that way, it was supposed to be a joke, like all the talk of muscle cars makes me wanna go get a chevelle and forget about my truck. Hey I am a truck person so dropping a stoker motor into a pickup just to lose 2 seconds in the quarter due to weight and aerodynamic as opposed to dropping the motor into a car sound sounds like a good idea to me and as a homeowner I understand the need for the ability to haul junk around. So where you able to get a decent truck for the $600? later

jwtaylor, You didn't offend me if that is the impression you thought you gave me. I just took it more serious than intended, no harm done

I found the car in a local newspaper. In the ad it said 88 F250 supercab, 351W, 140,000 miles. $650.00. Luckily, I was the second guy to see it, the first guy was scared off by the leaky oil. The truck didn't seem to shift right, he admitted he tried to fix the leak by putting in a new oil gasket but said it still leaked. I could see where he attempted to put in a new gasket but I bet it hung up somewhere. The truck had been a asphalt construction fleet vehicle and was filthy inside also, but the body was good, except for two minor rust spots on the back of the bed, the engine ran decently and I figured for the price it wasn't a bad deal compared to what other F250's were going for. I put in a new alternator, tie rod ends, adjusted the trans, put in newer carpets and door panels, and fixed some other things, like IAC not working, the horn, license plate lights. Still much to do, but getting there. I've really enjoyed fixing this up so far, I been thinking about some mods, but that's in the future. But I love what a heavy duty vehicle this is, I get the Tim Taylor grunts when I drive it
