Firewall Busted around clutch master

I have an 88 F350 CC, w/ 7.3 L Diesel. The fire wall is busted around the master cylinder. Is there any way i can fix this cheap or somewhere i can buy a new one?

I am not sure if ford has an available plate for the master cylinder. Many people have posted problems like this. Many have fabricated a plate or at least washers where the master bolts up to the fire wall. A lot of people have noticed problems with clutch actions without getting to the point of the fire wall being busted out. It may be a make/shift type of thing good luck.

Ford part number: E8TZ7K509A

That's right! I forgot about that kit. I never had to use one but I now do recall that Ford did come up with one.

Got the same problem on an 88 Bronco. Went down to the old Ford dealer today and asked about the reinforcement panel. The small one is not very effective and cost $4. The big heavy duty one that is used on the F-350s is $100 - ouch !!!

Firewall Busted around clutch master

I had this problem with the F250. The cause was an exhausted pressure plate that needed replacement. The fingers were heat stressed to the point that it required extreme pressure to disengage the clutch. I removed the master cylinder and mig-welded a plate over the area. Of course after replacing the clutch assembly.. Good luck..
