Is this enough info to get me a build date?
Thanks in advance!
Can hardly wait!
Do an internet search "vopc". You can figure out from there.

I found this on a website. I have not tried it yet.
To check the status of your order you can call VOPC (Vehicle Order Processing Center) at . Be aware that this phone number is supposted to be for dealers only.
When you call you'll need your dealer's number, found on the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) that your dealer hopefully gave you a copy of. You'll also need your VIN, or order number as found on the DORA. If it doesn't work for you, you probably just need to speak slowler and clearer. You can always just speak to a rep and pretent to be your sales person checking on your car.

You will need your body style also. Such as U43 (Ex) or X33. (4x4 SC) Use your order number. The computer has a hard time deciphering the long VIN

Is the engine year stamped on the engine somewhere or how can you verify the new 2004 6.0L is what you got. My Eddie Bauer 4x4 Excursion is being built now. I told the dealer when I ordered I wouldn't accept the '03 and he got confirmation that mine would have the new engine but I'm skeptical after reading some of the threads. joe
Found the info from the 10/11/03 thread "04 6L Engine pictures". There a good man jschira gives two photos of how to determine the 04 engine. Thank you jschira!

F2506.Owannabe: I am trying to check the status of my order using this number and can't seem to get the info right for the automamated service to work, any suggestions? Order#3001/Dlr.#24208 Body Style W31 Vin# 1FTSW31PX4EB23219 Dusty4353
I tied to do it as well. The automated system is about as poor as it gets. After several tries it could not understand the dealer code. It then tried to put me through to a person and I hung up.
I guess you could talk to a person. Just tell them you are a salesman checking on the status of a customer's truck. Use your salesman's name.
Good luck.

Owannabe, appreciate you trying to help me! I called customer service and the lady said it was being built, but could not tell me if it was built. Dealer want's to get it in this month's business and is going to do everything to accomplish this. Just anxious!! Never ordered one before. amacki4353
While I was out of town my salsman called and said my truck came in. I asked him to check the engine sticker and he said he did and that it was a 2004 6.0. I'll go sign for it Monday.

grnacres!!!
Just read this message. I'm on the road, heading south for the winter, dragging my 5er to warmer climates.
Glad to hear your truck came in and you have the 2004 build engine. Guess I missed the updated engine by about a week.
So far I have no complaints. Truck runs great. Only have about 1500 miles on her though. I'm pleased with the power and torque and compared to my 1997 F350 gasser, it's a great improvement. I like the new tow/haul tranny. I feel a little more at ease going down grades and uphill I can either maintain or gain speed. Actually passed another non-Ford diesel dually pulling a smaller 5er going uphill.
Installing guages today to montior EGT and trans temp. Thought it would be a good idea since I tow a sizeable trailer.
Peace
Later - David

LouieBobo Yes it did come in though it had a 2003 6.0. So as the salesman and I agreed he reordered it.
I thought about keeping it with the 2003 6.0. Sounded great ran good. During my inspection of the truck I noticed scratches on the front and rear bumpers and the tailgate. The plastic around the rear bumper trailer hich area was also tore up. Needed to be replaced. He saw that I was not real happy and said that there was no problem that he would reorder. So now I'm waiting again.
