Flareside Nite

I was approached by someone in a parking lot today who was interested in looking at my 1994 Flareside.

He also had one, a black one, which he said was a Flareside Nite Edition. It was a nice looking black Flareside with Nite decals.

I've never seen or heard of a Flareside Nite Edition truck - was this truck for real or was it something this guy made up himself?

If it is a Ford edition truck, what were the production numbers, etc? His was for sale and I'd love to have own another Flareside - especially if it was a limited production truck. It was a 1994 model, 5.0 L, 5 speed, p/w, p/l, a/c, and rear sliding window. The interior caught my attention the most- it was the standard bench seat, but it was all black including the headliner, door panels, dashboard and floor. I've never seem another Flareside or F150 with this interior.

Any input is appreciated, Glenn

I don't have any solid info for you but I do remember seeing the Nite Edidtion Flareside's back in the mid-90. Don't think he made it up.

No he's not making it up, there is a Nite edition. The only thing that seperates the Nite from any other F150 is a cool looking paint job. I think they only made the Nite's in 92' and 93', but I could be wrong. They're cool looking trucks though.

There was a separate brochure Ford printed for the 1992 Flaresides. In it, it shows a Nite version. I told my Dad he could make his '93 black XLT Flareside into a Nite version, if he painted the grille and bumpers black, and added the Nite decals&tape stripes, but now we're thinking of adding '93-'95 Lightning 17' wheels, and Firestone Firehawks to it, and building up it's stock 5.0L roller. We thought about a GT-40 5.8L Lightning engine, but figure on sticking with the truck's current 5.0L. A "Lightning" Flareside! Did you know Ford almost built one in 1994? I saw where for the 1994 Indy 500 festivities the had two prototypes built(red), and were going to make a Flareside version production for '94-1/2 &'95, but then they shelved the idea.

The Nite's were only made 2 years, 1991 and 1992.

1991's are only regular cab shortbed 2 and 4x4. The 1992's are available in regular and supercab short and flareside. There was also a bronco.

It is not a true Nite if it is a 1994 model.

i have a 1992 flareside Nite as of today 10/7/2007, owned for 13 years. it is and will always be my pride and joy for trucks, however my wife is making me get a new truck, a 2007 supercrew. 302 automatic, ran 16.2 in the 1/4 at norwalk(now summit raceway in norwalk ohio). anyway, since i'm parting with my truck that i intended to repaint when i could afford to do it, i have the tape stripe and nite decals that were to be re-applied after paint. if anyone knows who would want to buy these off me, email me jt52974@ameritech.net. reasonable offers, paid 600 bucks for them, as there were only 3 left in the country when i got them, figured i'd get around to it sooner than later, oh well. color combo ocean blue/wisteria

I'd do anything for a Nite...Don't let the "lack" of interest in your area of the country fool you. There is still a giant desire for a Nite among anyone that has a taste for nostalgia.
