Error code 62, need help
My Ford books show that code as being for "Converter Clutch Failure: The EEC-IV module picks up excessive amount of converter slip while converter is scheduled to be locked up."
The pinpoint tests indicated are for the wiring harness, the converter clutch solenoid, and the converter clutch regulator valve and control valve.

My book shows the clutch fault only as a continuous memory fault under the car EEC section, my continuous memory faults were clean. Under the truck section it shows the Transmission 4/3 circuit fault. What do you show for indicated tests for that fault?
Thanks for your help.

I guess I can't help you. I am looking at the Ford Engine/Emissions-Diagnosis 1991 Shop Manual, and the 1991 Bronco, Econoline, F-Series, F-Super Duty Truck Manual, Volume 1.
62 is not listed anywhere in these books (car or truck) as a KOEO code. Nor is 69, which is 3-4 shift error. Both are listed only as continuous codes for trucks with E4OD.
If you are in monitor mode doing a wiggle test of connectors or wiring, the code may show up on a VOM or STAR.

Thanks for checking. That's strange that it's not showing up in your manual. I would trust you books more than my little reader manual. I'll try the wiggle tests and also letting the computer reset and see what comes up. The only thing that concerns me is that I had some strange tranny action on the way to work the other day. Have done a full fluid change since and seems to be running fine now. Just trying to avoid a surprise on our next long trip.
Thanks again,
Kurtis
