'Been a chemical engineer since '88, working in vanadium processing, then magnesium processing (I have a scrap VIPER valve cover - want to get the rest of the car sometime), now doing fertilizer manufacturing in Wyoming.
Before that, did lab tech duties in veterinary toxicology lab (if FiFi ate the green hot dog the neighbor lobbed over the fence, I got to analyze the stomach contents)
Before that, Navy nuclear mechanic (machinist' mate & ELT) on subs.
Got into Fords initially due to needing a rig to haul my motorcycle, so I bought the Ranchero in '82. Had a Ford ever since, and married into a Ford-lover family too (motorcycle is long gone). Did the drag racing thing whenever I was near a track (Boise's Firebird, Salt Lake City's Rocky Mtn. Raceway). Lived at high altitude (6000 ft +) for 14 years, so nothing goes as fast as it should.
"Spikedog" is a reference to the Johnny Carson skit (dating myself here) where he does Art Fern, the mid-day movie matinee host who always finished announcing the stars of the show with "...and Spike the wonder dog...", while the bodacious Carol Wayne nodded along.
