.056 or .044 gap??

I see in many places on this board that the spark plug gap for a 93 302 is .044...this is also in the Haynes manual. Under the hood on my truck there is a sticker saying it should be .056. Anybody gap it at .056, or is .044 it and this sticker is a mistake.

I believe that the manual says that if the emissions sticker under the hood is different than the manual, you should go with the under hood sticker. In my case (92 - 302) it is the larger gap, so that is what I put in. The only problem for me was that I had a crossfire problem in the 7 and 8 cylinders, that I thought was a plug problem, (so I tried both gaps,) but was really the 7 & 8 wires having been routed too close together. Once I seperated them, the truck hasn't crossfired once, and the engine seems to run good with the larger gap plugs.

Chilton and Haynes manuals are often wrong about this. Always go by the sticker. My '74 (Duraspark I) E-100 would hardly run at all using the manual. I finally found the sticker, on the valve cover and hidden by dirt and oil, that had the correct gap. It ran fine after that.
