2000 Mile Report and Impressions
Just turned over 2000 miles on the odometer on my 04 Lariat Screw, 3.73 rearend, LT tires, class III, moonroof, center console, heated seats, black and tan.
Pros:
-Best riding truck period!
-Interior flows smoothly and the gauges are better than those found in Caddy's and Lincoln's.
-Exterior was perfectly done.
-Shifter on the floor provides a perfect resting point for my hand.
-5.4 l is strong and shifts very smoothly
-Overall this is an incredible vehicle.
-Moonroof and power rear window make it almost as good as a convertable
Cons:
-Mileage is a little disappointing. 15.5 mpg with most of the riding on interstates and rural hilly roads.
-Mileage computer is off by 5 to 8 tenths on the high side(just like our explorer)
-Change holder in the center console should be in the front of the console instead of on the side (awkward to reach)
-Safety latch for child seats stick up and should be on a swivel so you can put them behind the seat.
-No Automatic Daytime Running Lights even though I have the auto lamp package
- Dual zone heating would have been nice since my wife is always cold and I am always hot.
-Captains's chairs are not as comfortable as those in my Explorer and the new Expeditions.

RX--Nice honest review.
I agree with the child seat restraints, definitely a poor design at least for the one in the middle of the back seat. The seats are comfortable but I feel lack the lateral support of the better captain's seats.
As for the mileage, I find it to be very similar to my avalanche so I am happy considering I don't have 2000 miles on it yet or a cover on the bed. The daytime running lamps are an option and I don't have them either but do have the auto lamp option. I prefer this set up over the daytime lamps because there are times I don't want the lights on or just the running lights on (hunting, off-road, etc, not normal driving).
As for the pros, DITTO.
