94 F150...need some advice

Alrighty basically this is what I have. I've got a 94' F150 shortbed with a L6 300. Its got a manual transmission and is also 2wd. Its got a 6" rough country suspension lift with 35 x 12.5 BFGoodrich AT's, and a custom dual exhaust.

Problem 1: My first problem is the front end. It just feels weak. I have snapped three raduis arms and the front end just makes weird popping noises all the time. It also just isnt very smooth driving. You can feel every little bump. I am debating on whether or not to put a 4wd in it, or extended raduis arms to beef it up. Then dual shock mounts for the front to smoothen out the ride. I have only one stabilizer for the steering. The steering isnt as tight as I want it to be. How can I fix this front end problem. Will 4wd smooth out the ride and make it stronger or is the extended raduis arms with dual shock mounts and dual stabilizers better?

Problem 2: When I installed my suspension lift didnt do anything with the transmission. Do I need to shim it down if so how. The truck is a manual and doesnt feel like it shifts very smooth. It just doesnt feel right. It bucks every now and then. I was hoping maybe it was because my drive was at such a akward angle.

Problem 3: My truck makes a winding noise when running. Someone told me it was the clutch and that ford is notorious for it. Is this true or can I fix that awful weak sounding noise?

Turn the key on but don't start it, does the truck make the same whine noise? That's probably your fuel pumps. I have no idea why you'd break three radius arms, something isn't right there, do you have the drop brackets on there? Dual shocks will stiffen your ride. Stabilizers are not the answer your looking for, they used take out bump steer so most likely the looseness you feel is the steering box. A 4wd truck will probably ride a little harsher, as there is more unsprung weight. Extended radius arms are a great thing to have, but rough country is ...kinda junk for suspension so that's probably why your ride is so harsh. Also, when you lift a vehicle there's no getting around a stiffer suspension. You have 35" tires, thats a lot of unsprung weight. You wanted a big truck, and it's not going to ride like a town car. My truck has a top of the line skyjacker suspension for 6" of lift and 35" tires and it rides pretty stiff too. I put 1200lbs of concrete mix in the bed and it barely moved.

I realize that rough country isnt the best but its what I got. I think I will just get the extended radius arms and call it good. I dont really know what else I can do to beef up the front end. Anybody else got some ideas that I can add on. Possibly engine wise. The 300 L6 just aint producing the power. Computer chip? K&N filter?

You'll never get the I-6 to run fast, but it has a lot of low end power which is great off road. Check out the inline six forum for that.
