1. Raise the front of the truck & support it on good jackstands.
2. Remove the nut that holds the pitman arm to the sector shaft.
3. Using a pitman arm puller (seen below) remove the pitman arm from the sector shaft. You can usually rent a pitman arm puller from the autoparts store.

5. Place a drain pan under the sector shaft.
6. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel to full left or full right. This will force the seal out of the steering box & into the drain pan.
7. Clean the seal bore with brake parts cleaner.
8. Find a socket or small piece of pipe that matches the outside diameter of the new seal. Use this "tool" as a seal driver.
9. Install the seal according to the directions that come in the seal kit. Some seals are 1 piece (seal only), some are 2 piece (seal & dust seal) & some are 3 piece (seal, spacer, dust boot). Make sure you install the parts according to the directions or you'll have a leaker.
10. Install the snap ring.
11. Turn the steering wheel to the "straight ahead" position.
12. Install the pitman arm. Torque the nut to 200 lbs./ft.
13. Refill the power steering reservoir.
14. Start the engine and check for leaks.
