alternator

Does anyone know where I can find a picture of the front of a 460 that would show how the alternator and bracket are mounted? I put a 460 into a '77 F150 and everything's going fine until I tried mounting the alt. I think that the bracket I have is the wrong one, I can't seem to get any bolt holes to match-up. Any help would be appreciated.

well what side and is it in the upper or lower position? I think I have a few pics in my gallery of the mounted lower passenger side.

it mounts to the passenger side. I think it is supposed to go in an upper position, but not sure. When I got this truck and engines, they were in pieces. It was under construction when I got it. I built the engine from the bare block. I know that the previous owner did have a 460 in it before but he cracked a cylinder and was trying to rebuild it when he gave up and I talked him out of it. I'll check out your gallery. Any info is better than no info.

Look in my gallery, I think you can see it on the engine pic, if not I can see if I have a pic on my puter and send it to you.

edit: I just checked it don't show it in the pic. Sorry. My truck is in TN now waiting on paint job so I can't run out and snap a different picture.

It goes on the lower passenger side. If you can't find one in the boneyards, L&L sells them.

Thanks for the responses. I'll keep on looking. I'm familiar with L&L, that's where I got my towers and motormounts. I didn't think about checking with them for an alternator bracket. They're so expensive, I think I'll try a few other places first. I haven't been to the junkyard yet. thanks
