Ford is sinking to Chevys levels!
Okay, so maybe not so low. But I saw a new F-150 on the road the other day and the only think I could think of was "HOW UGLY!!" It looked as bad as the new Silverado. I had to catch up with the guy and check it out front and back and I just couldn't believe how ugly it was.
Does anyone know if Ford has any plans to mess up the F-250+ line?
This wasn't ment as a flame, just curious if anyone else shares my opinion that all the truck companys (At least the GOOD ones... well... the American ones... you know the people who build REAL trucks) are making their trucks more and more ugly? The new F-150 is ugly, the new Silverado is ugly and the new Ram is ugly... whats up with that?

I have to agree. It makes you wonder what demographic the auto manufacturer's are tryin to target with their design. I would rather see trucks more sleek and functional in design. More like a Sterling or Freightliner. Not all bulked up like a steroided SUV that died and swelled up like a possum on the side of the road.

They look great to me, inside and out. But the wheels and tires are too small - typical.
Alot has been written about why Ford went the direction they did regarding the appearance of the truck. Having that information won't make you like the look of the truck, but it does outline the reasoning behind it.

Some people called the 1953 F-100 ugly when it came out. And the 57, and the 61. Also the 1967, 1973, 1980, 1987 and 1997. People resist change. This is the strongest Ford light duty ever built, from frame strength to tow capacity.
Moving this to the proper forum.

I don't think there is anyway you can compare it to the Silverado. GM REALLY screwed up the Silverado. But that's to be expected from them. Afterall, they make the other two ugliest vehicles on the road as well: the Avalanche, and the Aztec.
On the inside, yes the new F-150 is ugly. But the truck overall looks good.

I hate the outside. It's got the big bumps over the wheel whells like the 97-2002 F-150, but they're flat and it just looks really bizarre. It just straight, I dunno, it's really weird, I can't describe it, but it looked like a childrens toy. It looked all plastic and it looked really skinny and weird

So many different opinons! The inside looks good, no the outside does, no the inside looks ugly, no the inside looks good but the outside looks bad...... hehe. I don't think we could all be on Ford's designing team.... we'd be discussing how it should look till we run outa time.

I think the new trucks look great. It's definitely different. I'm the sure the Ford engineers wrangled day and night over how the truck should look. I wonder how many designs they considered before settling on this one, dozens? hundreds? Who knows. The thing that really upsets me the most about the new F150 is I can't afford one now!
