Does a Functional Cupholder Exist for F150s?

I've got a 5-speed '95 F150 4x4 with a bench seat. Ford provided a crummy little cup/coin change holder that usually results in my coffee cup dumping on the passenger side carpet.

Has anyone added/fabricated a cupholder (that actually works) in a Ford? I'd love one that slid out from the dash, but I think I'm pushing it.

i'd be interested in one too. my 94 didn't even come with one. i've tried the stick on the dash ones, and the hang on your air vent ones. they both resulted in big "messes".

Ford used that small one for all manual transmission trucks and trucks with the floor shift TC. I have the larger two cup one for all automatic 2wd trucks. You might look for one of those.

You don't have the convenience package then either. You can add them if you wish. Just get two bolts, the holes for the bolts are allready there in the front of your seat.

haha, convienience package! Jeez!

I think the only package my truck came with was 4 wheel drive!

Ford intended for my particular truck to be bought off the show room floor, then parked in a field for all its life.

She's a trooper though! a trooper with no cup holders...

I have the in-dash cd player and I discovered that when I'm not playing cds it works as a pretty good cup holder.

You can tell he's a redneck because ...............

The larger cup holder won't fit with the shifter and transfer case shifter. If anything, manuals should have better cup holders. There's nothing like shifting with one hand, with a cup of coffee in the other, trying to negociate a turn!

The only place to put a coffee cup in my 1989 F150 is on the dashboard. I can't believe Ford engineers could be so stupid as to forget this necessary driving tool.

Most riding lawnmowers have cupholders for crying out loud!

If anyone comes up with an answer to this one they should get the Nobel prize. I'd really like to avoid getting covered in coffee while I'm out plowing.

If it's that important, you could always swap in a 40/20/40 seat or captains chairs with the console.

Does a Functional Cupholder Exist for F150s?

I had the same problem when I got my '92 F-150 during my third sophmore year in college. I got a "Spill Master" console at Walmart for like $15, and it's served me well. It's got adjustable cupholders, up to a Double Big Gulp, and serves as a nice armrest and CD holder.

The only down side is I have to be careful when anyone gets in and out of the back seat (super cab) the console can easily slide off the seat when its not strapped down.

Good luck, and Cheers!

my long term plan for the interior of my regular cab, if funds promote, is to get a set of bucket seats and make my own console.

I'm planning on making the console a hardwood box for my 10" sub, and puting plexiglass on the top of the console for looks. I would make/buy some cup holders and incorporate them into the console.

Maybe i can find a good deal at a junkyard... too bad there aren't any around here!

Too bad the shift boot with cupholders that are standard on Rangers will not fit our F-series trucks. I remember having a '91 Ranger and installing the shift boot from the newer models into my truck. That thing was nice! It had adjustable cupholders. I wonder if the plastic assy will fit our trucks????

My XLT Lariat has bucket/captain's chair's up front with that center console that has two holes for beverages of some sort.

Only problem it is very shallow so you need to be careful when turning with an open container in there. It does make for a nice arm rest too!
