Thinking of buying '89 F250....
Thinking of buying a 1989 F250 4x4 460. Has some problems - won't stay on- can only turn on with starter fluid. Needs tires, needs A/C , paint and has very little rust. The owner is asking $1000 is this fair deal? I want to offer him less but don't want to insult him.
Any Ideas on it?
Thanks.

I paid $1200 for my 89 F250 XLT 2WD. Has little rust (rear fenders - easy bondo fix) but everything else was in a decent shape. Put another $300 in it (mostly parts, as I do all work myself). It's now in a perfect driving shape. So it all depends. The asking price looks decent but look and listen carefully, as you might end up spending more than you are planning.

for that price, if you like to spin a wrench, (and who dont?!?!)
then i would say, yes. thats a decent price.
up here in the minneapolis/st.paul area, folks get a grand for a four by chassiscab sans motor!
i paid 2500$ for my 88' F-250 4x4 and aint never looked back. . .
