2wd to 4wd??
First....where are you from?...If your in Washington St...your in luck....I can do it.... If you are near Albuquerque....My friend down there does it.....Other than that...????.... If you are really interested in this I know of a website I can probably find out for you who can do it in your area. e-mail me at
forota4x4(No Email Addresses In Posts!) with some of your specifics...year model etc. It normally runs about $3000-$4000 +/- with parts supplied by installer. If you plan on lifting it....it is best to do it while swapping to 4wd as you won't have to buy parts twice. Some 4wd shops are capable of doing this....but most are scared to do anything above bolting on lift kits to trucks and installing running boards. Good luck.

if it is an 80-96 your lucky. it is a bolt in swap. if you are fairly mechanical, you can do it yourself. I suggest buying a donor truck or at least know where one is to get parts from.
check out tech articles for full story n this swap. I have been driving mine for two years now, and have had no issues.
it took about twelve hours on a gravel driveway, so a good garage floor should allow you to do it quickly.
