97 F250 trailer brake connection ???

97 F-250 Heavy Duty. Came pre-wired for trailer lights, round, 6 prong plug. Have never had a trailer with brakes, but I do now.

I have the controller, where does it wire/plug into the truck?

It has 4 stripped wires for ground, power, lights, output to trailer brakes. Does it need a plug-in of some kind or can i direct wire it?

There is a connector pigtail available from Ford that makes the wiring easy. The part number is F4TZ 14A348-A The receptical for that to plug into is attached to a small plastic tab at the bottom center of the dash under the radio area.

HUge discrepancy in price from one dealer to another, $9.50 at one, $37 at another! Same part, 30 miles apart!

I think I can make that decision on my own.

This forum is cool, I'll be back.
