I have a 1970 F250 Camper Special. I am looking for mirror brackets, have the mirrors. They are the LARGE ones, the top of the brackets mount above the window. Any suggestions on finding new or used...with or without the mirror itself

 

if i had my replacement mirrors, i would give you the stock ones. i hate the big mirrors

 

Go to the junkyard, tons of parts.

 

I was in a Local "Car Quest" and their mirrors look identical to the "Rotunda" on my F100.

I don't like the extra windload. It's funny mirrors came up, but I just got a new pair free last night. I presently have the "tripod" mount semi-large mirrors. One is stainless, one painted. They don't look too hot, and act like noisy wind sails on the highway. I mentioned to a friend that I was thinking about getting a new set, and he went in the house, and brought out a set of ford factory mirrors from an 87 f-150 in the boxes. He had bought a new pair, and still had his old ones.
The type that uses pretty much a wide single curved mounting bar, and a mirror with a stainless curved aero shroud on the front. They are in great shape and I have all the parts and gaskets. I'm gonna stick them on later today if I get a chance. Should look better, and maybe save me a 1/2 mpg...:/ MK

 

I love the big stainless steel "West Coast" mirrors on these old trucks! I have a spare set for my truck, in case I ever smack a tree again like I did a couple of years ago. Every time I see an old truck in a junkyard with a set of these I buy them, as long as there not too overpriced. I got rid a a pair of them awhile back, now I wish I had kept them. They were the short reach style, They look identical to the ones I have on my truck, but don't stick out quite as far.

 

how did you make out? i know i have some of those parts, but not all.
