What are the differnces from 99 to newer V-10s?

What is the difference from a 99 model to a 2002 model that allows the newer V-10 to make more power? is internal engine, exhaust, throttlebody, or intake? I was wonder5ing because I have a 99 and if it is possible to add 30 horsepower, or whatever the difference is, just by swapping out one ford part for another why not. Thanks for any help and I'm sorry if this topic has been covered already I searched through 8 pages of posts and couldn't find the answer.

I believe it's the cams. Heads may be different also.

The biggest difference is the Heads. from 2000 up they went to PI heads.........(Power Improved) they have ALOT bigger intake ports. they also changed some PCM programming.
To change heads you would also need to change intake cause they changed the intake as well, just to match up with the new heads though

I have a 2000 F250 V10 (mfg date 12/99). Does my V10 have the PI heads? How can I tell?

If it is a 2000 model truck, you have the 310hp version with the improved heads and intake.
