roller rockers and cams for the 4.2?
Hey guys
I've tried Crane Cams. They don't make anything. Does anyone know of any company that makes internal engine parts for the 2003 4.2? ie. roller rockers, cams, lifters, valve springs.
I'm tired of wasting money on all this "bolt on" stuff and would rather put my money into something I know for sure will definetely give me more power.
Thanks,
Tom

I have 1.8 Roller rockers in my truck now, Harland Sharp makes them and they go for $260 a set, stock ratio is 1.73. RPM Mustangs has a few different cams for our trucks as well as ported heads, valve springs, pushrods etc.
Our lifters are good for 7,500rpm and 500hp so no need to upgrade those.

Tallywacker,
I went to Harland's website and emailed them. Jeff, from the tech department, can't figure out which rockers you were refering too. He's seems confused and doesn't think they make anything for our trucks. Can you give me more specific details so I can email them to him, such as part numbers from your receipt or something. Maybe the person you delt with over there??
Thanks,
Tom

Bought em from Mikeal at http://www.rpm-mustangs.com I bought the 1.8 NON-adjustable's for .020" added lift.
I do all my own work, took me 1.5hrs to install start to stop.
Tip: valve gaskets are reusable unless torn.

I have first hand experience...
Let me basically tell it to you like this. There are other mods that you SHOULD do before roller rockers.
You WILL get more gains from Electric fans or underdrive Pulley then you will with the Roller Rockers... Gains are almost nothing with them... I went with roller rockers because I am going with a cam soon 207/215 .475/.495 110LCA and I wanted RR to go with the cam.

I never thought about electric fans... They actually add power? Pulleys I have thought of. I think I'm gonna get a loan for about 2 or 3 grand, and start buying soon. I might wait 'till after Christmas though.
Also, Talley, have you heard anything recent on the headers from Cali?
