'88 runs lean during first 30-90 sec

Hey all...

I have a '88 f150 4x4, 302 5 sp

upon startup, and first driving the engine bogs right at 3000 rpm...actually acts like it leans out, and looses power, and pops from the exhaust. WHen I shift up, its fine until it hits 3K again.....air fuel ratio guage shows mostly lean, 1st segment of ideal....flips violently in that range....Tach goes nuts flipping between 3-4.5K, although rpms do not physically increase after 3K. My first thought is a week fuel pump, but after 30-90 seconds of this condition, it picks up, and runs normally until I shut it off again. Started about a month ago, about every 5th startup, but now every startup, whether engine warm or cold. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Mike
