Not only is the PSD 6.0 faster, the Dodge truck is built in MEXICO. just read the sticker on the door. I have looked at three new Dodges and all were made in MEXICO. I wouldn't buy a truck made in MEXICO no matter how fast it was.

It's amazing to me how many people are concerned with how fast these diesel pickups are. We're talking about massive vehicles with huge towing capacities and heavy payloads, and yet the question people want to know is "how fast is it?" If it was me, and all I was concerned about was being faster than the competition, I'd be looking at a Mustang instead. Will save you a lot of cash.

But,

Is the 6.0 faster BEFORE or after the reflashes, dead pedal, and Oil leaks?
Hmmm I too wonder why 0-60 times are so important in truck s of this caliber?

Yes, the 6.0L is the "fastest" oil burner out today. (stock that is)

I had an 02 7.3L with a 3 stage diablo delta chip on it. My new 6.0L is about as fast as my old truck chipped. I'm also getting the 6.0L chipped next week. (60HP/110HP) Can't wait to see the power boost ! For those interested, I'll post my results in the "chipping the 6.0L" thread.

1/4 Mil

I ran my 4x4 cc long bed at the track with the exhaust off and i ran a 15.7 @ 90. That was doing a 4x4 launch with the turbo spooled up. I am sure with a quadzilla a filter and some injectors the 8000lb truck would run low 14.00. Very respectable.

I am running 14.60's with my truck 13.80's with propane but if you look at my list which I couldn't get it all on there I ran out of room it takes a bit of doing to go fast with a diesel the 6.0 is the fastest out of the chevy or dodge type in ford chevy diesel quarter mile on your search and they had a shoot out the ford was a half second faster I have a 7.3 no turbo lag banks I am adding nitrous to my truck next week looking for 12's have fun.

That's what I'm getting with my Dmax is 14's in the quarter with a juice/Attitude combo and banks exhaust.. But stock to stock my buddy with a 6.0 usually beat me by about a truck length. We both have ours chipped and piped now and it's a horse a piece who wins on any given day

My Duramax runs 12.8@104 on #2 and 12.4@109 on nitrous with a stock motor, stock turbo, stock injectors, stock fuel system, just programming, tranny, intake & exhaust mods. There is another Duramax with similar mods as mine with bigger injectors running 12.0@119 on nitrous.

mtomac I spool my truck up before I launch I also run slicks. I am putting the nitrous to it in two weeks I have not touched my injectors but all of the upgrades I have done to my truck are geared for complete burning of the fuel I shoot into my truck and durability my truck will be around for a long time those duramax's without some other upgrades and just shooting nitrous to the motor will eventually be the death of it I am interested in how much hp shot of nitrous you are shooting and what year truck you have I started out with 275 stock hp .I truely hope that you are not suggesting that just because you have a duramax that it is faster or better because that is surely not the case once I shoot my truck with nitrous you have an open invitation to a race I will meet you half way to where you are .

The Duramax does have the best performance potential of the three when it comes to going fast with the fewest # of mods. I'll NEED a rollbar (11's) if I ditch the stock injectors and stock turbo.
My 60' times are in the 1.6-1.7 sec range with 285' BFG AT's. I don't need slicks right now, but they could make the truck faster out of the hole.

When can you make it to Lapeer? It's between GR and Romulus. I'll might go there this weekend for some TNT. I haven't dialed in the nitrous yet. Just bolted it on put the biggest jet in that it came with and went out there.

BTW your 01 has PM rods from the factory unless you put a set of forged steel ones in it. It will take more nitrous and propane than your PM rods and head gaskets will handle to get into the low 12's. I would hate to see you break a rod and window the block. The PM rods give up in the low to mid 400 rwhp range.
