Leaky gas tanks -----
hi there,
yes they form leaks at times... IMO, if you can, it would be best to run your tank as close to empty as possible then pull the tank.. on mine, it appears the rubber lines are leaking. I just filled it but I'm going to wait till its almost empty to pull it... I'm changing a transmission. I have it out and thats when I noticed the rear tank leaking... the rubber lines run from the top of the tank (under the bed) to the steel lines ( above the differental) then run up the frame to a pump that connects both tanks to the same line then to the motor.. thats how its set up on this one anyway. My return line leaks on the motor too... Makes me wonder if all the rubber go at the same time.... I'd like to suggest to make sure your fuel system from the tanks to the injection pump is in sound running order if your going to pull the tank (s) .. not much sense in doin it 2 or more times if one doesnt have too. just a thought...
