Just hit 99K on my 96 today. Running great!

LOL!! 42 miles each way - 5 days a week. 22 miles each way to the lake - every Saturday and Sunday, and sometimes after work. 4 trips from Atlanta to Dallas, TX, 1 trip to San Antonio, TX, 8 trips to Pigeon Forge, TN, and countless trips to Florida and Alabama coastlines pulling two jet skis... Plus all the daily running around...

I like to drive...

how many miles you all have?
Just got back from a 2,230 mile trip and the average mileage that included 2 weeks of local driving was 19.6 mpg.

Beginners LOL Just rolled 207,000 miles on my 96 Explorer today, original engine and all--Damn I love Ford!

108,000 on a 98 XLT 4.0 SOHC

Only replaced brakes, starter, fluids, tires, and had a standard tune-up.

Run Mobil 1, drive like an old lady (cept when I NEED to gun it), and am shootin' for 300K.

I'll check back with a report periodically

96 X sport 4.0 SOHC 4x4 with 77,000

replaced

water pump (dealer did this.. I did the rest)
heater valve
DPFE
IAC
TPS

Change all radiator hoses and heater hoses
changed serpentine belt twice first time with L- cheap-o $18
then changed it year&half later with $34 belt..much better

Not bad for a 96
No major problems(knock on wood)

1996 XLT AWD 5.0L Green 67,500 ish. Seems to be running well. I hope I have the same luck as the rest of you.

58k on the 97 v8 awd

84k on the 94 4x4 both are in perfect shape and run perfect

'99 Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC with 107000 miles. Original motor & tranny, only major work was intake manifolds (upper & lower with the gaskets).

Keep on going....How "bout 239,473 as of this morning. 94 Sport 2wd 5spd. Alot of it pulling various trailers. Still getting 20 mpg on avg. Tranny at 190,000. otherwise all is well. Front end getting a little loose. I will probably go to a 5.0 auto soon.
