rear drum adjustment?

I had to put some new rubber on my 1990 F150 pickup and the guy told me that my rear brakes were out of adjustment. I looked it up in my Haynes but it didn't say anything about it. Anyone know what I have to do?

Should be a knock out oval slot or an ovel rubber plug on the inside plate of the brakes-- usually just under the axle tube. If you look in there you will see a "star wheel". Just a washer with allot of teeth on it connected to the adjuster. Take a screw driver and turn it ( not sure which way ) but if it doesn't tighten up soon then your going the wrong way. Get it snug then back it off one turn.
