Have two questions......
I have a 1995 F-150 5.0. Whenever I go over a bump or through a dip, there is clunking/popping noise on the drivers side. We just replaced the shocks and put on a new radius arm bearing, which seemed to help for about a day, but then, it came back. So if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. Also is it possible to change my gauge face to the 95 Lighting gauge face, because I wantwhite face gauges, and a tach would be nice, and they only make them for the 93-95 lightings. Have two questions......
First the popping noise. Ford uses rivets on some items that go to the frame; these rivets sometimes come lose. Get under your truck and see if you can move any rivets; lightly hit them with a hammer to see if they move. If no success, jack up the truck under the frame, so the wheels are hanging off the ground. Now check the rivets again. This may be time consuming, and you may not find this is the problem but try it out.
To fix a rivet, drill it out, or grind the head off and hit it out with a hammer and punch. Next replace the rivet with a grade 8 bolt, or something to the nature. This should fix the noise.
I’m not sure about the gauges, if you don’t have a tachometer that might be hard to wire up, also the lightning’s had a 351 with a supercharger the gauge wiring for the temp and oil pressure or others, might be different I don’t know.
