Pastmaster, I've checked around most people are quoting me around $750 per axle! Where did you find someone to do them both for $650. Another kind of stupid question. Does the 94' use a Dana 44 front axle?

$750/axle? That's a rip off. A local shop will order in both ring/pinions for $450, and install them for $200. I think that's a steal consider installation is a real PITA! Yep you have the Dana 44 TTB.

I've made numerous calls and have found a little improvement in cost. Cheapest place is $150 per axle for installation, doesn't include parts. The only problem with this is they don't do it with the axle in the truck. I'd have to remove the axles and take them in. Pain in the #####. Total cost of the job would be around $750

We also have a 1994 F150 4x4, E4OD and 3.55 gears, 115,000 miles.
You have to get rid of the big tires or change the gears, or just downshift it on hills. The 302 is basically a car engine and likes to rev. I got rid of the 32" tires, I'm getting P255/70-15's to handle the weight of my camper (about 1000 lbs.) and keep the same gearing as stock 235/75-15's. K&N filters, exhaust systems and most other mods only help top-end anyway, sometimes hurting low-end torque.
