I have been looking for any ATV trails in N. GA. I would like to load my 4 wheel ATV in the truck and spend a day cruising a trail.
Can anyone help me out??

How far out of Athens on 78? Is it a state park or private?
I tried a trail north of Dalonaga (sp?) on Wisenant (sp?) Mnt. It was great. $5 parking fee. It had several trails that went up the Mtn. Some rough parts. Some big mud holes. Fun, and you have to hose off your ATV/dirt bike, truck, and yourself before you get home. I saw a waterfall and several wildlife. Park ranger was very nice and helpful.

After Whissenhant and Rocky Creek (Chatsworth), I tried Houston Valley (1 1/2 hr. drive from Atlanta). It was the best. At least 25 miles of trails. You simply can't try all in one day. It was dusty (bring goggles) and a bit crowded.
Ignore the directions on the website. I got off at the Dalton/Rocky face exit (one mile north of Walnut St/Dalton exit), turn left go 2 miles, turn left at Texaco, go 1/2 mile, turn right on Houston Valley Rd, go thru two stop signs, and 2 miles later, you will see Capehart Rd (left) and parking is at end of road.
It has a loading dock for easy load/unload. Good camping available. It has some streams, a small swamp like area, and plenty of wildlife (I saw a big buck). One series of trails winds up a Mtn. Half of trails are easy and half are advanced. It had a smelly restroom. All the people were friendly. I will return later in the fall when the leaves change.
