Axle question??

Axle question??
I special ordered a F250 6.7 LWB CC 4x4 about 7 weeks ago and it is ready to pick up. I had my salesman take a few pics and send to me. I have the camper package, the HD tow package and 275/70R18 A/T GoodYears. I had already ordered the F250, assuming the 350 costs a whole lot more. Little did i know, the 350 is roughly the same price as the F250 with the camper and hd. I was lucky enough to be able to add those two options. The HD towing package includes upgraded axle, which i would think, is the DANA M275. I have seen that the DANA is rated for 7200. My question is, why does my sticker say 6340 if its the same axle as on the 350?

Why does Ford keep printing it, IF it's wrong and there is no difference in the axles? They say one is a Ford Sterling M275 and the other is a Ford & Dana
It says one has a 3.5" tube and the other has a 4" tube. And on and on down the list. Every spec is different between the two axles.
Every year the spec book shows a difference. You'd think if it was a mistake that Ford would catch it and fix the mistake.
You pay more money for F350 than the F250 and the only difference besides the logo on the truck is the axle, Tires, Brakes, Frame etc are all the same, What makes a F350 different if it's not the axle.

Go look at the parts catalog. At least for the 2016 trucks the parts are different
I can't find any of the 2017 parts online right at this moment, But I'll bet they have different part numbers also
F250 Right Axle Shaft BC3Z-4234-D F350 Right Axle Shaft 8C3Z-4234-D
F250 Inner Bearing BC3Z-1244-A F350 Inner Bearing BC3Z-1243-A
F250 Outer bearing CC3Z-1239-A F350 Outer Bearing CC3Z-1240-A

SRW 350 6.2 motor = Sterling 10.5.
SRW 350 6.7 motor = Dana M275.
Standard 250 with either motor = Sterling 10.5.
HD 250 that only comes with the 6.7 = Dana M275.
There is no difference in either axle based on which truck it's used in. The Sterling in the SRW 350 is 100% identical to the Sterling in the 250. The Dana M275 used in the HD 250 is 100% identical to the Dana in the SRW 350 6.7. The ONLY difference between the two is the spring rate of the spring packs used on them.
As to the 2016 part numbers, you looked them up wrong. The 350 part numbers you are showing for 2016 are for a DRW and don't apply to what we are discussing here. The 2011-2016 SRW 350 has the exact same axles the 250. See below. This has been hashed out over and over since 2011 and even Ford engineers have confirmed that the axles are the same between the two trucks when they posted here on FTE back in 2014. I linked the post below... There is no debate though if you just look at the application chart for part numbers. Yes, every year from 2011 to 2016 the spec book showed a difference. And every year it was wrong.
So, you posed the question, if everything is the same what makes the SRW 350 more expensive. For 2016 they were about $800 more expensive but if you ordered the 250 with the camper package (closing the price gap further) which gave it the rear overload spring that the SRW 350 came with standard, then absolutely NOTHING was different. For 2017 what's the difference between the HD 250 and the SRW 6.7 350? The rear spring rate. That's it. I'm not sure of the price gap for 17, but it's again very small. This is why most guys just go 350. You get the truck rated to it's full numbers for very little more $.

Axle (Dana M275): 7280 lbs.
Springs (pair): 6340 lbs.
Wheels ( 2x 18"): 7180 lbs.
Tires (2x 18" A/T): 7280 lbs.

Bottom line to the OP: you can go ahead an overload your payload rating without concern (although the 250 springs are slightly softer) but you'll never get away from the legalities of the sticker on the door (although highly unlikely you'll ever be busted for it).
If you are very unhappy with the 250's sticker rating, ask your dealer to find you a 350 or reorder one. Most dealers wouldn't hesitate to sell your truck.
Some states charge more for over 10k GVW. That's why the 250 exists. For the first time, it looks like the springs are slightly softer this year as well, plus lower tire pressure requirements (again, inline with the 10k GVW) which results in probably a slightly better ride quality than the equivalent F-350.
