4wd to 2wd

a little history back in the fall for some odd reason my exp locked itself into 4hi i replaced the gem and it didnt fix it so in my frustration i removed the front driveshaft and it drove fine well a few days ago i started to hear a noise while driving that sounded like a wheel bearing going bad so i jacked the truck up and spun the wheels and found out the differential is making the noise so what im wondering is can i remove the fromnt axles and still drive it? i know i need to kleave the outter piece of the axle to keep the bearing together. i just need to keep it going till summer

I don't see why not. FYI, always identify the vehicle since the designs vary over the years and models.

yes, there's no issue with that. Just make sure you set your parking brake, on other trucks (AWD) it will slowly roll if the front driveshaft is removed. I'm not sure if this happens on the Expy.

Expeditions don't have AWD, they have A4WD, and no they will not roll in Park if the front driveshaft is removed.
