How to get a pic under my name?

How do I get a picture under my user name on the left hand side of the screen?

Do you mean like that ?

It's called an avatar, and access is made through your profile.
It is hosted by your gallery & inserted into the avatar window.

I have tried a search and ended up here, and I tried changing my profile, but found that the picture I want is too big. I tried to resize it myself, but it gets saved as a different type of file that can't be uploaded. I would like it resized, and I can email it to someone who knows how to do it for me. PM me or something.

Is this a photo in your gallery for the avatar ?

EDIT: I just noticed you haven't created a gallery yet?

okay I just set up a gallery but it is empty. now what?

You have to create an album within the gallery.

Make sure you name it like *Joe's Edge* or something.

Once you have an album you wil see a area that says Browse.
This gives you access to YOUR Computer files

Make sure the photos are with 750 px on the longest side.

okay, I uploaded one, I think it is the right size.

Okay, Now go to that album and near the small photo on the page , you will see the words ,

edit...delete
forum codes.

Click *forum codes.*

The next thing you will see is

Full size photo

& below that is Thumbnail size.

Take the cursor with your mouse and Highlite the whole code for the thumbnail image.

Now > Right click on that highlighted code > then left click mouse and click COPY.

Now go to your profile scroll down and look for the
*Change Avatar* button

click that and you will see

Add custom avatar for bigrigfixer>
Click the dot
Look in the window where is says [url]http://www.[/url

left click in there and remove those characters

Now with the cursor still flashing in that box > right click Mouse.
Now, left click PASTE.

Now go to each end and remove [img]........[/img

Click submit modifications and back out> you're done

I did all that and the reply was the image is too big. can you or someone else resize it for me? I may not be able to get to it tonight, but thanks for all your help by the way.

I thought you had truck photo you wanted to use.

I went back and changed the name of the album to
*My Avatars*, that way if you have other's later, you keep them in that album.

Then you have to HIDE the album from public view.

Joe's Edge is empty but ready to have photos uploaded.
