Custom drainage holes

Hey everyone
I hope some of you have put custom drainage holes in your ranchero, so maybe you can help me. I have a 79 ranchero, and i need to put drainage holes in the corners of the truck bed. the thing is that the top 1/4 under the bed is the storage compartment behind the seats. so if i drilled holes, it would flood the compartment. i decided im gonna put the holes in the corners and get some kind of hose that will dump the water out of the wheel well. does anyone have any ideas on this?? what can i use that will keep the hose attached at the top. any ideas will help. thanks!
Danny

P.S. - Jachin72, if you read this, how did your aerochamber mufflers work?

Custom drainage holes

Dan,

THEY SOUND GREAT!!! No low frequency groan that you hear with all of the FMs. They make my Comp Cams 270H sound even meaner. I have them hooked up behind Hedman Ceramic Coated headers, 3" pipes and a 3" H-pipe just behind the tailshaft. For 3" exhaust, they are pretty quiet compared to my next door neighbor's 3 1/2" FMs.

If were to do it all over again, I would run 2 1/2" so I could get them up over the axle. Mine are turned down in front of the axles. Dust blows everywhere when I get on it.

I wish I could get it on a digital recording for you, but I don't have the toys for that... yet.

DRanchero, did you try this yet.
this has been a problem I need to consider before I even start restoring the bed. not till the summer though. I was thinking along the line of 1/2 pvc. glue the pcv flush with a grommet in the bed corner and straight down thru a grommet in the bottom of the compartment with no glue here for any movement.

location is going to be tight on the side with the spare tire. you may have to use a hose here. you could use 5/8" hose and hose clamp it in between two pvc nipples which you could now glue both and the hose would adjust for any movement . its a thought.

thats sounds like a good idea to me. if havent tried to do anything with mine yet, however. the main thing im worried about is leaking water into the compartment area. this is another idea someone gave me, tell me what you think of this one:
"You can probably pick up a drain for a swamp cooler. This is a flat plate that is held by a nut from below. A garden hose type connector will screw on the bottom. Put some hose on it and you should be set"
I would have to have it empty out through the wheel wells probably. Ill ask some people here about your idea and see what they say. Thanks for your help!
