2018 models or rumors

I've been keeping track of the dolen link someone posted on here recently, stills says that the production and order dates for 2018 is TBD same with 2017 production ending.

I'll prolly be looking to order around July. That's when I will have met my goal of saving up cash. But one question I has is... normally when do 2018 orders become accepted? Would I be better off waiting a couple more months to get an 18 or no?

Are their any rumors out yet about upgrades, updates or anything on the 18. If it's virtually the same truck then hopefully I can order a 17 and it won't be too late. Just tying to weigh my options here and see what you folks think.

The wait sucks but every time my paycheck hits my bank acccouny and my savings roll into the truck account my smile keeps getting bigger and bigger!

One color will be added to the lineup and monotone KR's can be ordered in Platinum White. That's about it.

I was about to start a thread like this too! I'm waiting for the '18 also, largely on the principle that I never buy the first year of a new design.

I'm hoping for some packaging tweaks for 2018 as it's tough to get the features you want without taking some you don't.

I know what you mean, but the Fords are actually the most customizable of any of the trucks as far as individual options.

An '18, especially an early build will be close enough to a first year design that you just as well buy the '17. Usually it takes at least two years for the major bugs to be found and fixed.

I've noticed that. They have features that just aren't available on the other brands. It's not a money thing for me... I'd just buy a Platinum, but I've decided that I'd rather have chrome bumpers, PVD wheels (I live in the salt belt), non-powered running boards (door ding and chip protection, plus the whole winter slush mess). Sunroof is a take it or leave it item. I'd rather have the multi-contour seats and prefer two-tone paint. Definitely did NOT want adaptive steering after learning more about it.

After running through all of the combos on the build and price page, I think the Lariat Ultimate with chrome pkg plus a few other items (360 camera system, dual alternators, rapid heat, roof lights, FX4, 20" PVDs) will be the truck for me. It won't have the multi contour seats but everything else is pretty close.

I'd like to see them add Ingot Silver as an accent color option. I had a 99 LD F250 (aka F150 7700#) in Oxford White over Ingot Silver and thought that was a great combo.

I guess it is how you define "new design". The engine isn't new. It's on its what? 3rd or 4th generation now?

And the cab is basically from what the F150's have been using for a couple years.

While it is new to the Super Duty series, I don't know that this can be referred to what has traditionally been considered a new design...

Will any colors be deleted?
