Concealed Carry mounts

Did anybody mount their portable security device under the dash or below the steering wheel out of site? Want to Keep my "piece" under the dash but looking for ideas for mounts. Holster between the seats works but cant leave it there cuz you can see it when Im not in truck.

I thought...uhh...security devices....are illegal if kept in a vehicle instead of on yourself.

I thought it was illegal, at least here in Wisconsin...

It could just be there so that way it's easier to grab, while in your vehicle, than trying to grab out of your holster on your side or inside the waste band. Besides you'd take it with you when you leave the vehicle, unless going into a place not allowed *shivers*.

Before it gets anymore stupidly political, I'd think under the steering column would be a good place and use short screws to mount it.

In Alabama it's legal to have the security device out in the open. I find it easiest to simply put mine in one of the cupholders in the console when I'm doing daily activities, like driving back and forth to the office. Beyond that, depending on the situation, I either put it in the console out of sight or have it on me.

This is not illegal in all states.

I would never leave something like that out in the open. That's just asking for trouble (IMO). If you have to have it with you, then store it properly in the case in the console.

As far as I know its legal to have a loaded hand gun in a vehicle in Wi. It is illegal to have a loaded long gun in a vehicle. At one times all firearms had to be unloaded and cased, But they did away with that a few years ago.

I keep a handgun tucked between the seats. Seams to ride there just fine. Wasn't an issue during a recent traffic stop.

"Those with a concealed carry license may conceal a pistol in a vehicle."

Please get something that you can lock it securely in if you're going to leave the vehicle u attended. Vehicles get broken in to all the time and leaving it unsecured will guarantee if you're the chosen one it's gone. Them we get to hear about how people don't need to have guns because blah, blah, blah.

As far as leaving I think behind because a business posted a sign, I always leave the business. I know in some states that is difficult because so many businesses have signs, and I'm sorry for the people that live there.

I browsed around and found this....but even though it's locked, it would still be visible and thus vulnerable, unless you got creative and figured an out of the way spot to mount it, then it would not be as easily accessible in an emergency. Thinking of modifying a holster to hold it while I'm in the truck and install a console safe for the times I'm not carrying it and have to leave it in the vehicle.

I put mine in the console if I need to go into a place where I can't take it inside. Like Mitch, I'm considering a console safe.

Personally I've always concealed carried mine at the 3:30/4 o'clock position with no issues whatsoever. Black Arch IWB holster and Sig P320C 357 Sig...even on long drives I barely know it's there. I realize that doesn't answer the OP's question; just saying I've never mounted it in my car/truck because I can carry concealed without any issues.
