87 460 efi swap to 78 400?

you guys will think I'm nuts, but I have a clean 87 f250 that needs a motor and I have a beat to hell 78 f150 that runs. To rebuild the 460 will be at least twice the cost of freshening up the 400. I know the bell housing is the same, are the fly wheels the same size so I don't have starter issues? and what other troubles will I run into? The f250 is just a work truck it just needs to move under it's own power.

Well, as long as the 460 is carbed the fuel system will be fairly easy. But the engine mounts are different and since that generation truck didn't have the 351m/400 series engine you will have to fab your own. Then you will have to fab exhaust.
It can be done, hell I've put a 460 in a fox body, but you will have a lot of work to do.
If you do it, post up a how to with pictures.

Find an RV motor and don't look back.

Lot's of 30 year old RV's that were babied by their owner's, that now have irreparable roof leaks, are out there.

None seem to have 100K.
