2011 F150 Sync Update NO MEDIA FILES
Hoping someone might have a suggestion. I am trying to update Sync on a 2011 F150. Symptoms are:
1. I go to Sync LINE IN, PRESS OK but never get MENU. From Sync Line In - I have to use voice command and say USB - but the display shows "NO MEDIA FILES". Perhaps my problem is due to my not ever being able to get to the MENU?
I have tried the following:
1. Multiple brands and types of USBs. I have used windows explorer to confirm there are no hidden files on any of the USB drives.
2. Used Windows extract and Stuffit Expander extract with same results
3. I have the truck running and in PARK at the time of the update attempt
4. I made sure I EJECTED all the USB drives prior to removing from the computer
5. Confirmed the only files on the USB are autoinstall.lst install.lst and the SyncMyRide folder with the cab files inside that folder
Any other thoughts on what might be going wrong here appreciated.
Thanks
UPDATE - I also tested the USB port by putting a USB with an MP3 file on it in the USB port. Played with no issues.

PROBLEM SOLVED - the issue was that the button sequence and prompts I found online do not match what I see in my 2011 F150.
After inserting the USB and selecting AUX, rather than hit "OK", I hit the actual MENU button. Then I select source / USB, i see the message "no media files", ignore then use the OK button to scroll to advanced, then install application. Worked liked a charm.
