You need atleast a 6" lift for 37's and it's still going to rub. With a 4 or 6" lift your gong to be replacing you front springs anyway so it does matter if you have the plow prep or not and even with the x code plow prep springs 37's are still going to rub like a s.o.b. with just a leveling kit.

That second truck that inspired you is an 08-10 model. The wheel openings are much bigger. They will except 35's stock, and 37's with just a 3.5". Some people have even cleared 37's with a 2.5" and no rub.

In the first picture, that's stock wheels, so the wheel is definitely to narrow for a 35x12.50 and guaranteed to rub the radius arms/leaf springs. So put a 0 offset 9" wide wheel on that truck and the clearance becomes very tight compared to that picture. But I do think it would look good, as I'm a fan of little wheel wheel gap, vs 6" lifts and 35's.

I'm really not up to date on the early superduty, but I would guess no, not without rubbing. Sure you could go to trimming and maybe space your bumper out and inch.

You need to really consider the consequences of 37's without a regear, especially if your in a gasser. 35's are enough strain even with 4.10's on a gasser. Not only are they bigger in diameter, but they are a lot heavier. You will want to consider upgrading your brakes as well. I'm going to 37's very soon, but already have a regear budgeted in, and my brakes are bigger than yours factory, but still plan on upgrading them shortly after. Just something to think about.

In your original post you state that your truck is an 2004 unless your truck is 2wheel drive or an 05 and up your truck had leaf springs from the factory and no matter how much you want 37s to fit and not rub with a leveling kit I don't care if you have x code springs or not it's gonna rub.
