wiring insrtuions for western plow relay

I have a 1995 ford f350 diesel with the original glow plug relay. It has 2 large wire terminals & a small plug with 2 sockets in the plug that goes into the ford relay. I have ordered & rec,d a western plow relay #56131k2. It came with no instructions It has 2 large terminals & 2 small terminals I can figurer out the lager guys for wiring those but what [where] do those small wires [pink] & red with a green stripe go onto which terminals I know I have to cut the plug off & put wire loop ends on those wires but do not know to which terminals to attach them too. Sorry for the long question & thanks for any help. Friskyjake

Yeah, the earlier '95s just had that weatherpack connector for the two small terminals. SOME of them, over the years, had an adapter harness added that goes from that weatherpack connector to two plain-old round lug terminals, allowing any "generic" four-terminal relay to be used. Apparently your truck never got that.

In any event, neither circuit is polarized. So yeah, if you just cut off the connector and put ring terminals on those two wires, just put one on each of the small terminals of the relay, whichever way it fits best.

polarity does not matter on glow plug relays.. large wires go to the large terminals, small wires go to the small terminals. the small terminals close the contacts to connect the large terminals.

wiring relay

Thankyou guys for clearing up my question. You explained it, to dummy me. It,s so simple & I guess that is why there was no instructions with the relay. & I,m surprised @ how long the original relay has functioned so well & is still working OK. Lucky I guess. I will keep the new one in my camper so if I need it, its, available. I carry lots of tools. Friskyjake

i have had them last 25 years, or two years.
there is no rhyme or reason to when they want to quit.
i started replacing the factory relays with the stancor relays around 10 years ago because they just seem to last forever.
same with the relay on the snow plows. western or meyer, when they die i replace them with stancors.
