ECU ID without removing it?

I fixed the ECU on my 1994 E-150? club wagon, 5.8 / 4EOD A few years ago, but now I need to replace it.

I took pictures of it when I had it out but the pics are blurry
All I can read Is EEC-IV EFI and JET0

Is there any way of identifying the ECU without removing it?
EDIT: After searching I came up with part number 78-5880 ? Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

This is my only transportation now, and I cannot risk taking out the ECU and damaging it to try to fix it again.

Guys up in the Econoline section probbaly know a lot more

But, a quick google

94 1994 Ford E150 Econoline Club Wagon Electronic Control Unit - Engine Electrical - A1 Cardone, Standard Motor Products - PartsGeek

Lists part numbers for club wagons with different engines and trannies.
(don't know anything about this place)

Rock Auto also seems to have parts by the same supplier (Cardone). I think that they're all remans these days.

Good Luck,

hj

Ford2go, I saw that page while searching. I would rather buy it out of a store rather than online. I only have one vehicle, if theres a problem I cannot wait.
Thanks.

o'reilly auto probably has them -- although they might not stock them.

I looked them up and they carry cardone and other brands. I added an E150-- not quite yours, but they did show ecus for it.

Other choice is a scrapyard. I got a mopar one there once. I asked how they knew that it was good -- they said " it was running before we took it out"

Not a real comforting feeling, but it worked out.

good luck,

hj
