Yes. If it could be just even 5# lower, then the regulator might handle it. It's just too much pressure to bypass through that small return line. It is the ol 10# of potato in a 5# sack routine.

Stock on a bricknose truck is 3/8 supply and 5/16 return.

​​​​​​​Maybe there is a reason the carbureted trucks had a resistor in the fuel pump 'run' wiring?

Connect the feed to the return with a T.

Run a holley adjustable 12-803 regulator to carb.
