Throwing money at brakes

Sometimes when i press the brake peddle it acts as if the anti lock are kicking in. I'm not pressing the peddle hard and not doing a hard stop so the effect is almost no brakes. It stops after 2-3 sec and works fine but that's a lot of time not stopping. I almost got to know the guy in front of me a lot more that i wanted to a couple of times. Asked some mechanics I know and was told master brake cylinder could be bad and bypassing or booster could be bad.

So new master cylinder and new booster and its no better. (POOF) I didn't need that cash anyways.

I felt like it was anti lock the whole time but I was told it was unlikely. I was wondering if i could just unplug the abs system on the frame to see if this solved the problem? Other than not having abs would this cause problems.

There is an abs computer thingy behind the glove box that could be an easy switch. Otherwise most of the brake system is straightforward
