which new to me truck

CFO is considering giving the go ahead for a new to me truck.

contenders right now are 2007 6.0 crewcab lariat 159k 4x4 with a curtis plow for $14k
2011 f250 crewcab with the 6.2 lariat 4x4 135k for $20500 no blade or contoller but wiring and truck side for fisher v plow

I know next to nothing about the 6.2 but the little bit I've read they seem depdenapble.

I have not checked any of the numbers on the 6.0.

have a late 04 6.0 now but getting tired of the now constant issues.

thanks for the feedback!

The 2011 is considerably more $$ but it would be my choice. Put gas in and drive! No issues like you may have with the 6.0. I really like the diesel power but the simplicity of the gas motor is nice. Less warmup time before driving and less cooldown time before shutting off. I have 180k miles on my company 6.2 duty and it been trouble free.

I have not had a 6.2, but have had lots of experience with the 6.0. I'd buy the gas if it were me. The 6.0's just tend to bleed money. Even the "bulletproofed" ones have issues. I just wouldn't want to inherit the issues with the 6.0. Just my $.02.

My '12 F350 6.2 is a work truck and I would say the '11 is the better choice

You're right and seem to know the answer. Go with the tried and true 6.2.

go for the 2011 My friend does Landscaping/parking lot maitenance in the summer and snow removal/sanding/parking lot maintenance in the winter. He got rid of his 6.0 and 2- 6.4's in the auction and bought 4 - 6.2 before the winter and he loves em. His maintenance costs went down oil change wise and while they dont get same MPG's he also doesn't have the issues he was having with regens due to idling and clogging up the dpf.

He says the trucks have a good amount of torque to them he bought them with the snow plow pkg and 4.30 gears and so far no problems, they pull utility and goose neck trailers with them with bobcats and other gear on em, and he is happy with them
