Another EO4D transmission hickup

I was working on my 94 F350 over the winter trying to figure out why the tranny was shifting hard and falling flat on its face under load. No tranny codes, sensors all were ok, wiring was all ok. I was down to the last thing that I thought I would be comfortable working on; the solenoid pack. I went to pull the truck out of the garage last weekend and the rear tire was locked up. I was able to break it free with a little gas, and after looking it over found the parking break stuck. I freed it up and unhooked it to prevent it happening again. Took the truck for a test drive and there are no issues. The tranny shift perfect and all the power is back. The truck is ready for the season in front of the camper.

No just throwing this out there as another possibility for a fix. I did quite a few searches and there are all kinds of advice for other areas to fix these transmissions, the breaks sticking never came up.

Like Arnold in the Terminator, it will "be back".

A sticking brake doesn't account for the harsh shifts you had though.

My thoughts were that it was wrapping up tighter than it should to shift with the load and causing a harsh shift. Honestly not sure how or why or how. And it had the issue since I picked up the truck last summer so nothing to compare it to. I have been driving it around for the past few days with no issues. Maybe I got lucky and knocked something else around when I was messing with it. It wouldn't be the first time I fixed something with a good kick.

My e4 gave me a plethora of 6** codes for years along with varying degrees of "limp".

Sometimes perfectly fine. At its worst, no codes at all. Most of it was leaking capacitors in the ECU & a bad PSOM.

I never thought about the PSOM as no issues with the speedo. I may look a little farther into both of these. Neither this or the ECU are horribly expensive parts.
Thanks for the advise.

Sounds like a good time to check the rear brakes.
