Tire size help 2011 4x2

Hi Folks,
Normally hang out in the diesel forums but have a friend who is trying to find tires for his 2011 4x2 XLT with stock 17 inch rims. No leveling kit or suspension mods. Tried to search the archives and found lots of 4x4 and leveling kit answers but none that would help us.

What's the biggest tire you've run on a 4x2 without clearance issues.

Thanks in Advance for your help, Paul

My 2010 is wearing 245/75r17's

Not much larger than stock, though.

I have similar question, my stock 4x2, reg cab, came stock with 235/75/17. I'm thinking about going to 255/70/17, from what I've found, this size is same height, so speedo remains correct, but 2 cm wider.

Here's a good link.

A 265/70r17 might be a better bet and are much more common. I bet I you check your speedometer with a GPS it reads about 2% slow. The 265's will put your speedometer just about nuts on.

Going from a 235/75 to a 245/75 put mine dead nuts on.

Just to follow up he went with 265-70-17 with no rubbing issues and they fill the wheel well pretty nicely.
