Oh wait.I know what's going on.You guys are out snowmobiling on all the fresh powder. You cold loving freaks! Have a good one Maine.I'm still a touch under the weather.Little light headed, dizzy getting over a bad cold so I've been stuck inside.80's weather is coming though and I'm coming out the tail end of sickness so I should get out and get some hiking in soon.

Lost power for 2 days, came back on yesterday afternoon. That was the worst noreaster I've seen in a while. The winds were the worse. Took 4 hours to drive 75 miles. Plow truck couldn't plow our road so they brough out the big road grader with a v plow to take care of it. Big pine just missed our chicken coop. Just another winter in Maine. You have to have some excitement!

Yeah I figured there would be a nasty mess left behind from that one.Speaking of excitement.I almost stepped on a monster rattlesnake yesterday!
Look at him,all coiled up and ready to strike!
I posted the event in the winter wonderland thread.

That rattle is very loud and it sounds more like a small engine running than it does a rattle.Once I got a good 10' away he slowed down and even stopped the rattle. When I waved my arm or walked sideways so he could see or hear me again, the rattle started up and ran like a little engine lol.Man alive. What a rush! The rattle got my attention asap but it was surreal to actually think and know it was a rattlesnake.I looked in disbelief but with great respect just the same lol.
Just think guys, thanks to the cold up home we don't have to deal with these guys.
It then occurred to me as I scrambled back down over the boulders, that I was playing a game of russian roulette. There could be a rattler anywhere under those boulders. When I step down in front of one and if there was one in there,he's not going to rattle if I step just a few inches away.He would just strike.Being in the mid 80's here now,I think I'll just stick to open trails from now on and leave the boulder climbing to cold weather lol.

You cold loving freaks must be loving it up there! Holy crap.Old man winter just doesn't want to let go does he? I guess it's not really nothing new.It just seems like March should be spring but it rarely is in Maine anyway. It seems like it takes until mid April before it really feels like spring.I'll be headed back soon but I wont be in a hurry when I hit the road lol.

Well I've never lived through a twister warning before. This will be new. Wish me luck!
I'm in what they call will be a level 4 twister watch and I guess that means 40% chance of seeing a twister within 50 miles.Hope everyone is doing good up north.Stay warm.Spring really will come eventually guys.
