Need help identifying connecting rods

I just bought a 72 351c block and it came with crank, cam, rods and pistons, the rods have a casting number C8OE-A AQ51 and the pistons have a 351c cast in them, everything I researched says those are 302 rods and I don't know why 302 rods would be attached to a 351c piston. I'm having no luck researching so if anybody knows what I have that would be appreciated thanks!

302 rods at 5.090 are a little shorter than 351C rods so maybe this was the beginning of someone's stroker project. (old school, budget stroker?)

What does the crank look like?

Some dimensions and other info here:

So are these just extra parts or is the crank in there all by itself?

Check that stroke. You may get lucky!

Only way to be sure is to throw a rod and piston on the crank and check your deck height.

The block has the crank and cam still in it and the rods and pistons came attached but not in the block and the previous owner swears that they are out of the block he sold me, I'm just trying to make sense of this before I ditch the rods for 351c rods

Thanks! I'm gonna take it by the machine shop Friday to get checked out, I'm still researching these rods to see if I have something desirable or something I'm gonna throw in the trash

no need to take it to the machine shop. Save your money and just attach One piston and rod on the crank and put it in the block. It either fits or it doesn't. if you cant do that you shouldn't even attempt a rebuild, and just farm the whole thing out to the machine shop. I guesse it all falls down to your ability to do the required work. If you have never done it, it sounds donting, but it really isn't.

Tape measure and visual on the crank ought to do it....but run a slug up the jug and see how that goes.
