Is there likely to be any problems installing a 1994 4.9litre engine in a 1992 that had a 4.9? I was just wondering if the change from OBD 1 to OBD2 meant there was a change in sensors or anything.

The bare long block will work, but you need to transfer intake, wiring, sensors maybe exhaust from the original motor to the new one.

 

A 1994 shouldn't have OBD-II

The only vehicles Ford made that got OBD-II in 1994 were Thunderbird/Cougar. The rest of the line got it in 1996.

And even in 1992 or 1994, OBD-I wouldn't have been used. It would be the old EEC-IV wouldn't it?

But I could be wrong.

The only issue with this swap is wiring compatability, the motors are the same. So just remove all wiring from the '94 and install the engine harness from the '92.
