sync 3 large screen and night time driving

Is the screen dimmable or is it not a problem. Hate having a bright scre ed n in my face at night.

There is an up down switch to the left of the steering column on the dash.

I always turn it down to minimum as tend to drive out of town where only lights one sees is on coming traffic. I find the less light in the cab the easier it is to see wild life or native people walking on the shoulder.

Yes, i have to have mine down when driving back roads or it will give me a headache from the brightness. The up and down buttons are on the right hand side of your headlight selector switch.

I think the dimmer switch you guys are describing is for the instrument panel only. On your Sync screen, there is a separate option for dimming the image, I set mine to auto and seems to work fine, it gets pretty dark.

This is good to hear. I've had an underlying concern about this with the big screen. On my Dodge I have them turned down as far as possible at night.

See OM pages 552 and 553 for instructions for dimming the SYNC3 display.

You can download a searchable pdf OM from Ford's website.

Enabling the night mode on the sync3 screen works great you don't even notice it while driving

Mine goes to a dark (black) background when the lights come on. It works great. I don't mess with the dimmer, doesn't seem like I have to.

The highlighted part above is key. I was freaking out wondering why my screen wasn't dimming. It was quite bright and it was distracting. I finally figured out my headlights weren't on. Sometimes I do the dumbest things.

I leave mine on the night setting full time. There is no problem seeing the night screen in the day.
