Manual transmission issue 94 f250

1st and 3rd gear puts my shifter in the dash. First off I had Lost shifter bushings, so it had some play.NOTE before loosing bushings, shifter was perfect working order. I finally found bushings through a private seller, After almost two years. I install new bushings and install my shifter but now my shift pattern seems out of place and 1st and 3rd will give you some nice bruises against the dash. No longer any play but, just not where shifter should be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the boot up and check the two bolts that hold the shifter to the shift stub. If they are loose it will cause this. mine did.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that's not it lol. Mine is welded just under the top bolt due to a break which lead to me loosing the bushings haha

I do not know then. May be you lost a bushing when you set the tower back in? Some one else may have an idea. Weld break ?

Everything seems to be proper, I really don't know how to explain it lol. Especially since it's been parked since the shifter broke bc I couldn't find the square bushings."3 years". The posistion of shifter was fine at that point. Now The shift pattern is nice and solid minus the fact my odds are in the dash. No wiggle or play. No added length from weld either. No angle change as well. Only thing I know to do at his point is to make myself A nice custom bent chrome shifter. Or a short throw shift setup. Not really a fan though.

i have not had a tower apart in over 20 years so do not remember how they are, but is it possible to put the bushings in backwards?
or maybe the shift tower is in backwards?

The way the square bushings fit in there is only one way. One on each side. I do not think the tower can be put in but one way. Had mine out a few mo. ago and just don't see how that could happen. idk.
